Private Workshop Terms and Conditions

I want booking your Knit & Knot workshop to be as straightforward as possible, and while i don’t like writing a lot of do’s and don’ts, these terms explain how bookings, payments, cancellations and changes work. Please have a read before confirming your workshop.

Booking your workshop

Your workshop date is not confirmed until we have agreed the date, location and workshop details, and your £100 booking deposit has been received.

The £100 deposit will be deducted from the final balance of your workshop.

Your booking deposit is non-refundable if you choose to cancel, as your date has been reserved exclusively for your group and I may have turned down other bookings.

Final numbers and payment

Final guest numbers must be confirmed no later than 14 days before your workshop.

Your remaining balance is also due 14 days before the workshop and will be calculated using the final number of guests confirmed at that point.

Once final numbers have been confirmed and payment has been made, I will begin preparing the materials for your group. Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds for individual guests who are then unable to attend. I can, however, make their chosen item for them to be sent home with another guest.

If additional guests would like to attend after the final numbers have been confirmed, please get in touch. I will always try to accommodate them where possible, but this will depend on the workshop, materials and preparation time available.

Bookings made within 14 days of the workshop date must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Cancelling your workshop

If you need to cancel your workshop, please let me know as soon as possible.

The £100 booking deposit is non-refundable.

If you cancel after the final balance has been paid, I may already have purchased, prepared or personalised materials specifically for your group. Any refund available will therefore depend on how much preparation has already been completed.

Where possible, I will try to move your booking to another date rather than cancel it completely.

Changing your workshop date

I understand that plans sometimes change. If you need to move your workshop, please contact me as soon as possible.

Where I am able to accommodate a change of date, your deposit and any additional payments can be transferred to a new date. Date changes are always subject to availability and may not always be possible, particularly at short notice.

If I need to cancel

In the unlikely event that I need to cancel your workshop due to illness or circumstances outside of my control, I will of course offer you a full refund should rescheduling not be an option.

Venue and uninterrupted workshop time

Unless we have specifically agreed otherwise, the person making the booking is responsible for arranging a suitable venue for the workshop and for any costs associated with it.

The venue should have enough table and seating space for everyone attending, and allow sufficient time for me to set up before the workshop and pack away afterwards (approximately 45 minutes for each).

The workshop time agreed at the time of booking must be available without planned interruptions. This includes catering, food service, speeches, entertainment, room access restrictions or other activities arranged by the organiser or venue.

Please make sure that caterers, entertainers and other suppliers are scheduled outside the agreed workshop time unless we have agreed otherwise in advance.

If the workshop is interrupted or delayed because of arrangements made by the organiser or venue, the workshop may need to finish at the originally agreed end time. I cannot guarantee that lost workshop time can be added at the end, particularly where I have another booking, travel plans or other commitments.

If an interruption means that I am required to stay beyond the agreed finish time, additional time may be charged at my current hourly rate, subject to availability. I will discuss this with the organiser where possible before extending the workshop.

Please let me know about any access restrictions, parking arrangements or other information that I may need before travelling to the venue.

Travel

Private workshops are available at locations across Northern Ireland, subject to availability.

Depending on the location of your workshop, an additional travel charge may apply. Any travel costs will be discussed and agreed with you before you pay your deposit, so there won't be any unexpected charges afterwards.

Children and young people

If a workshop is being booked for children or young people, suitable adult supervision must be provided throughout the workshop.

The organiser is responsible for ensuring that the workshop is appropriate for the age and needs of those attending. Please let me know the ages of the group when making your enquiry so that I can advise on suitable workshop options.

Safety and accessibility

Workshops involve craft materials and tools, including wire, needles and pliers.

Please let me know before booking if anyone attending has any accessibility requirements or other needs that may affect their participation. I will do my best to make reasonable adjustments where possible.

Photographs

I may occasionally ask to take photographs or short videos during a workshop to share on the Knit & Knot website or social media.

I will always ask permission before photographing participants. There is absolutely no obligation to be included.

For workshops involving children or young people, photographs will only be taken where appropriate permission has been obtained from the responsible adult or organisation.

Your finished creation

Part of the fun of a workshop is that every piece is handmade, so finished creations will naturally vary from person to person.

I'll guide everyone through the process and help as much as I can, but I can't guarantee that every finished piece will look exactly like an example or photograph.
